People and Leadership

Ask three colleagues the same question

Ask three colleagues the same question

Do you ever feel like the director says one thing, while the team understands something else entirely?

The director presents a strategy and leaves the meeting convinced that everything was perfectly clear.

The next day, you ask three members of the sales team what the company’s main goal is. You get three different answers. This doesn’t necessarily mean the employees weren’t listening; it means that each person interprets the same strategy slightly differently. Terms like "accountability," "qualified lead," "follow-up," "sales process," or "closing a sale" seem self-explanatory—until you ask people, "What does this word mean to you?" That is often when you discover that the company doesn’t have a single strategy; instead, it has several different interpretations of the same strategy. And where there is no shared understanding, there is no unified action. Every salesperson works in their own way. Every manager leads in their own way. Every department creates its own reality. That is why a company often doesn’t need a new strategy—what it needs first is a shared understanding of the existing one. Today Try a simple test. Ask three colleagues: "What is the final product of your work?" Do not correct their answers. Just listen. You will be surprised by the variety of responses you receive. This is precisely where true organizational alignment begins. If you want to verify whether your people, goals, and daily activities are genuinely aligned toward a common direction, the "Admin Scale for Companies" can help. Of course, I cannot show you the reality via email.

However, we can uncover it together during a free 15-minute consultation. You can book a slot here.

Sometimes, a single conversation reveals more than ten internal meetings.
