In 1999, after eight years in the military, I graduated from sociology and moved to Slovenia. I learned Slovenian between 1999 and 2001 and was later appointed a court interpreter. As a result of my affinity to language, I started my own company and named it PSD.
I’ve been constantly involved in language services and consulting, which have been taken to the highest level in the last twenty years. In addition to translation of books and technical literature, we also lease out interpreting equipment and provide certified translation, proofreading, editing and revision.
A while ago, these services were transferred to the larger company Iolar (www.iolar.com) and we thus became the largest provider of language solutions in the region.
Based on the diversity of clients and the needs of foreigners living in Slovenia, I’ve founded a consulting company, www.psd-consulting.com, which has advised at least 350 clients in the last fifteen years, who conduct their business in the Republic of Slovenia and generate profits.

In 2009, PSD was the first company in Slovenia to obtain EN 15038, the European standard for translation services, and the ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate. We still hold two certificates for translation services and quality management, i.e. ISO 17100 and ISO 9001 respectively.

What are we proud of?
We are delighted to work with every client. I’m proud of the fact that our clients stayed with us and still trust us after the merger with a larger company. Our clients are special to us. It’s not always easy for someone who comes to Slovenia, as they have to work that much harder to succeed. But I’ve never regretted choosing entrepreneurship, as this was the only field in which I felt creative.
We are proud to have translated some 150,000 pages of legislation, agreements, press releases, speeches, environmental and other reports, such as the Annual Report of the Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia, and many more for the Government of the Republic of Slovenia between 2007 and 2024.

In PSD Macedonia and other PSD offices, Katerina was responsible for IT and project management between 2010 and 2017.
Magdalena Simonovska
Magdalena worked in PSD between 2010 and 2023. She managed the office in Skopje and looked after the largest clients, such as NLB and A1.
Damjan Perme
Damjan is an experienced translator who worked briefly in PSD, but left a lasting impression on the clients he worked closely with.
Aleksandra Petrovska
Aleksandra worked as a project manager and administrator in PSD Macedonia between 2010 and 2016.
Rade Milenković
Rade has worked in PSD since 2006. He was personally responsible for PSD offices in Macedonia and Serbia.

Damjan established the IT system, set up the first servers, the Trados translation tool and the entire IT structure of PSD in 2006.

Ivan was responsible for IT and application development to facilitate project management between 2009 and 2024.
Zlatko Midžić
Zlatko’s been the first translator in PSD who still cooperates with us. After 19 years, he continues to translate for the Secretariat-General of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia.

Toni is responsible for IT and is very resourceful when seeking solutions for various problems. He specialises in hardware and antivirus software.

Timeline of the PSD company
Today, the world is quite different to how it was 20 or 30 years ago, when I started my first company in 1997 and employed two colleagues. Indeed, the world has changed, but the wish to create didn’t and that’s what drives the entrepreneurial story onwards. So, don’t disregard your wishes because you can move mountains with the correct approach and by being active.
Our story, which initially revolved around language solutions, has evolved into a story written together with our clients in the form of professional translation services for the business sector, including economy, legislation, tourism, medicine and others.
It was upgraded by corporate consulting and resulted in more than 350 satisfied clients who still conduct their business operations in Slovenia.

Merger with the IOLAR company

IOLAR d.o.o.
After three years of coordination, the merger was realised in June 2023. From then on, the profits generated from translation and related services have been transferred to Iolar.
To this end, we’re able to offer practically everything when it comes to language solutions.
As a Senior Business Developer, I am able to assist clients and companies in networking.
Networking, B2B meetings and invitations to various events are only a few of the activities that contribute to mutual success.
More than 30 years of experience
In the last 30 years, Iolar has become synonymous with translation services, software localisation, desktop publishing, interpreting, rental of interpreting equipment, machine translation and post editing.
PSD transferred its translation services and merged with some other companies in the region, making Iolar the holder of this merger. Iolar is thus the largest translation company in the region, as it obtained several offices in various countries of Eastern and Western Europe after the merger.
